My Experience

About Me

I was born in New Jersey and spent most of my childhood moving a lot due to my father's job. I have lived in Jakarta, Indonesia and Singapore. I am grateful for these experiences as I was able to immerse myself in many different cultures. This enabled me to adapt to new situations at a young age. Mastering adaptability has allowed me to thrive quickly in every job I have ever picked up.

My interest in psychology started early when I realized I was often the friend that my peers came to when they needed a shoulder to lean on. I also loved science, and eventually, the two just clicked; I wanted to study the mind and behavior.

In 2016, I lost a friend to suicide. It was then when I realized I wanted to be able to help those in need, both mentally and emotionally. In Asia, mental health is still something that is often disregarded. I believe that becoming apart of the mental health field as an Asian woman would benefit other Asians as it would make them feel more comfortable knowing that I am familiar with the culture and beliefs that surround mental health. I believe that children and teenagers need the most help when it comes to mental health, and thus I would like to specialize in that area one day. I have taken many psychology courses at Stockton University that will help me achieve that goal, some courses include Adolescence Psychology, Cross-cultural Psychology, Developmental Psychology in Childhood and Adolescence as well as a course that I am currently in, Research On Childhood and Adolescence.

While I do have a major interest in psychology in mental health, I have also grown to love the psychology behind consumer behavior and digital marketing through working with Riddle & Bloom. Riddle & Bloom has allowed me to express myself creatively while being productive and engaging. I love social media and how it is ever-evolving. Everyday I am learning something new just from using it. I love to learn about the different algorithms that social media platforms have to offer and how to use them efficiently to increase interaction with an audience. After I graduate with my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, I plan on taking a gap year to dabble in digital marketing before I pursue my Masters in Social Work. I hope that when the time comes, I will be able to help a company flourish in today's digital environment.

However, I am flexible and open to new experiences. New opportunities outside of my comfort zone are what have made me into who I am today. I cannot wait to see where life will take me!
